Lauri keeps posting on his website the lyrics of the songs included in his solo album New World, and today it’s the turn of “Hello”, that he introduced writing: “This song is a story of a girl who’s sentenced to death. Story is quite similar to the first pages of Leo Tolstoi book Resurrection which I read after writing this one. This song is very theatrical and perfect for making a music video.”

Here’s the lyrics:

Hello

Silently breathing the air of December
Window’s left open she lies on the floor
No further questions the jury has spoken
Nobody hears as she whispers the call

Hello
Is there anybody out there in the cold?
Hello
if there’s anybody else who’s left alone
hello

Injustice has won as she climbs on the platform
Strangers are staring and waving goodbye
Closing her eyes from the madness around her
Breathing the air of this world one last time

Hello
Is there anybody out there in the cold?
Hello
if there’s anybody else who’s left alone
hello

Maybe it’s like falling asleep
Maybe it’s not so bad
I ain’t gonna leave here feeling guilty
I ain’t gonna let you have that
Go ahead crush and break my bones
but you will never touch my soul
I would rather ride a bolt of lightning
than feel nothing at all
Anybody out there in the cold?
Is there anybody out there at all? Hello
