Lauri Ylönen of The Rasmus is the favourite of Hakaniemi market hall. Bypassers give him happy tap on a shoulder, shopkeepers greet him behind their counters and the singer himself can barely keep his heels on the ground while he tastes cheeses and organic products.
- It's not wise to come here with a rush. While shopping you make plans for the meal. You can have good advices from shopkeepers, Ylönen says.
- When I'm home I cook every day. At some point I used to do all that Asian yummy, but today I prefer clear line.
He really goes as far as possible when it comes to simple flavour.
- I have this special passion that I have to get steamed rice at times. And nothing else.
Ylönen tells he visits Hakaniemi hall a few times a month.
- It's incredible how here are old men who have sold fish on the same counter over 40 years. I always buy my fishes from the same old man who has the smallest booth of the hall.
-Once he suggested burbot soup for a meal. He also skinned the barbot, I wouldn't have done that. By the way, the soup was really good.
Ylönen has a multifaceted relationship with fish.
- I bought a boat this summer, so I can go fishing. One of the top moments of my childhood has been when we went to get some zander with my grandpa. When the closed time ended at midnight, dozen of boats went out to sea. There we spent whole night.
Because of all the rush the singer has been able to go fishing with his new boat only a few times.
- All the guys of the band are excited to come aboard.
On the menu Ylönnen has created for "Ilves" includes his favourite stuff. Champagne pea soup for the appetizer, pasta for entree and cheese plate for dessert.
- The baseline of the menu is that everything is organic. The cheese plate and the Arrabiata-pasta are from Italy, so I wanted something Finnish to the appertizer, Ylönen tells.

Ylönen isn't absolute with organic stuff anyway.
- We buyu organic stuff to home whenever it's possible. It's trendy today, but mostly it makes me feel good. It's recommended to prefer it, because there is so much good in it.
Even though Ylönen prefers organic food and his menu is also suitable for a vegetarian, he is omnivorous. For example in "Ilves" the guys of Rasmus are known as good eaters of a giant steak.
- It's a classic. It's so good that we even asked the recipe. They say it's a secret one, but we got it in the end, Ylönen tells.

Lauri's favourite restaurants in Helsinki:
RESTAURANT NOKKA, Kanavaranta 7. www.royalravintolat.com/nokka
- If you want clean and simple food, a Finnish taste experience, you can get it from Nokka. For ex. the broiled fish is good.
CHEZ DOMINIQUE, Rikhardinkatu 4. www.chezdominique.fi
- Even though it's an expensive reataurant, where they show off with the food, sometimes it's worth it. Eating there is for scientist, the portions are shown with absurd accuracy.
TINTIN GRILLI, Helsinginkatu
- I don't know if Tintin Grilli still exists in Kallio anymore, but you used to get good stuff there. We lived just next to it with Eero and we went there often.

The menu of Lauri Ylönen is in "Ilves" till 4.9. The new album "Black Roses" is going to be released 10.9. More info about the menu www.tavastiaklubi.fi.
